Incentivizing the Return to the Office after Childbirth
In the current population survey in 2004, 27.5 percent of wage and salary workers in the US had flexible work schedules. Research done by the Cranfield School of Management in the UK found that people able to work flexibly worked more intensely and had higher job satisfaction than people with more rigid hours. Swedish mothers and fathers can take 76 weeks between them whereas the average in the US is eight to 12 weeks.
