Harman accused of hypocrisy over equality
Harriet Harman, the deputy Labour leader has been acused of rank hipocrisy after it has been revealed that the proportion of seats in the public body occupied by women fell from 37.5 in 2004 to 32.6 this year despite government initiatives to improve gender diversity in politics. Officials have set new targets for 2011 to help the situation, including an aim for 50% of new appointments to be women. To read more click here.
